About Sacred Cry

Meeting the Heart’s Cry for the Divine

Blond woman joyfully praying.

The Genesis of Sacred Cry

Sacred Cry was created to inspire others with the love of God and to help as many as possible to encounter and unite with Him. God created us for himself, to be his children, to participate in His divine life (2 Peter 1:4). Anything less leaves us unfulfilled, because nothing in this fading world can compare with the love, goodness, or glory of God. This is why our hearts are restless until they rest in God (St. Augustine)… there is a “sacred cry” of our hearts longing to unite in love with the Most Holy Trinity.

Yet, we are not the only ones crying out. From the moment of man’s first sin, God began to cry out to us: “where are you?” (Genesis 3:8). He continued pursuing us through the ages, sending his patriarchs, prophets, then his Son, and then the Holy Spirit. His love for us has never faded.

Born From Suffering

Sacred Cry is a fruit born out of suffering. My daughter Angelina developed a chronic health condition when she was 17 (in 2020). We took her to all kinds of doctors in various disciplines, and her tests always came back negative until she was diagnosed with POTS and ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) among other things.

She has extreme fatigue and continuous pain. She can be compared to a cell phone with a 5% charge left on it… it will not function well and additional usage will cause it to crash. This is a difficult thing for most to understand, because we take so much for granted. Our breathing is something we don’t give a second thought to, but it takes energy to breath. We never think about the energy required to chew when eating, but for those with little energy it can be a chore. On a scale of 1-10, her pain level is typically 7-8, but occasionally hits 9 when she’s had to expend energy for some activity (to see a doctor for example). Some medications help to ease her pain but only temporarily. For those with ME/CFS, sleeping has little ability to replenish their energy levels. She also has additional symptoms including light/sound sensitivity and vertigo, among other things.

We believe in miracles and have seen others healed after being prayed with. Many pray for her on a daily basis, and several with strong healing ministries have prayed with her. She’s received the anointing of the sick multiple times, but for now, she has not been healed.

The Miracle Within

But the true miracle is the beautiful work God is doing in her heart. She never complains. She lets us know what she’s struggling with, but never in a way where she’s upset about it. She sees her friends moving on in their lives, finishing college, getting married, and she is truly happy for them. She has a joyful disposition. She’s grateful for the little things. She keeps an intercessory prayer list, and when she hears of someone else needing prayer, she will add their name to her list and offer up her suffering as a prayer in union with Jesus, for them.

An Inspirational Start

Let's Do This! Song CoverSacred Cry got its start after Angelina shared an image that she believes God gave her for her current situation. She saw herself on a path with Jesus. Both of them are carrying their cross: Jesus is carrying a huge cross (the weight of the world), and she’s carrying her little cross (which is still very heavy). She felt Jesus inviting her to walk with him in his suffering, and her response was “Let’s Do This Jesus!”

Angelina still desires to be healed, and we will continue to seek that out. But until healing comes, she knows that what she is suffering can have a purpose for her and for others. I wanted to encapsulate what she shared in some way, and I found a way to do it through song, with the help of AI. Yes, I used AI as a tool to help create the music, so you won’t see Sacred Cry going on tour any time soon!

Songs to Move the Heart

I originally wrote “Let’s Do This!” for my daughter—a personal anthem to capture what God is stirring in her heart. But when we shared it with others, something unexpected happened. People connected deeply with it. Especially those walking through struggles—they identified with it, were lifted up, and even gained a new sense of purpose.

I felt the Holy Spirit nudging me to keep going—to create more songs, starting with the lives of people in Scripture, that could help others recognize the cry in their own hearts for God. Songs that awaken that longing for God that all of us have deep in our hearts. Songs that invite people to taste and see that the Lord is good.

Having Fun

The Perfume Song CoverIn the course of my daily life, something might come up that would make me think, “I could make a song out of that!” Thus was born songs like The Perfume Song which was created after my wife’s life-long pursuit of a scent she liked failed again. Or Christian exercise songs I created to help people stay fit while building up their spirit as well as their body.

I pray that these songs will bless and inspire you, and most of all, lead you closer to Jesus who sacrificed all for you to meet the cry of your heart… a cry for more… a cry for God.
